A height-adjustable, magnetic drop unit is mounted inside the test chamber. A solid, smooth steel ball with a mass of 225 g can be attached to this drop unit (included with the delivery).
The drop can be triggered using an electric pushbutton after the safety door has been closed.
This allows tests to be safely conducted in accordance with EN 12983-2, Section 4.2, or Annex B: Steel Ball Impact Test.

A striking hammer with a mass of 75 g and a pointed tool with a radius of curvature of 0.2 mm is also mounted in the test chamber. Pulling out the retaining pin (which can be done from outside the test chamber) allows the tool to fall freely onto the glass cover.
This ensures that tests in accordance with EN 12983-2, Section 9, or Annex C: Testing the fracture pattern of thermally tempered glass covers, can be performed safely.
